This had only really begun a few months ago when we installed a new washing machine that was designed to use pods. The GE washing machine came with a free sample of Tide Pods. We bought a large container of the Tide pods. The smell from the washing machine pervaded the entire house with an artificial and overpowering scent. That smell has remained on our clothes and is clearly derived from an extremely potent cocktail of chemicals.

Having stumbled on so many accounts of similar itchiness and rashes we pulled all our sheets off the bed and tossed them in the washing machine without any detergent (double rinse cycle). We will do the same with our clothes. Needless to say the remaining pods are in the trash bin. For two weeks I have had terrible rashes and itchiness all over. The last thing my wife and I did was switch to tide pods. The determintologist prescribed some oral medicine that is helping with the inflammation but we are now re-washing everything with powder. Hopefully it is the tide pods. I convinced myself I had Covid-19, got tested and it was negative. 5 days ago, I broke out in hives all over my body. My skin has been burning hot and sooo itchy. Went to urgent care and have just been taking Benadryl ever since. Even as I write this...it is 2AM and I cant sleep because Im covered in hives. Ive now rewashed my sheets, blankets and recently worn clothes 3 times in liquid detergent and I am still itching :( I wish I never used Tide Pods. This has caused me so much stress (thinking I had Covid and waiting a week for the results), prevented me from sleeping from the extreme itching, and a fortune in detergent trying to wash my clothes over and over. I am sorry for all of you out there feeling the same pain (and itch)!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8993228338789986683.post-23009007741237838232020-05-05T16:08:47.668-07:002020-05-05T16:08:47.668-07:00I know this is years later but I MUST WARN THOSE A...I know this is years later but I MUST WARN THOSE ALLERGIC TO TIDE!!!!

I JUST WENT INTO ANAPHYLAXIS DUE TO TIDE, FROM JUST DPING LAUNDRY. Got home continued using them to wash all our clothes from vacation and after. 3 days later I am dying with a rash and itch so bad. I realized that’s the only thing I have changed. I rewashec all the clothes I had previously washed with the pods. I’m wearing clothes that weren’t washed with the pods since yesterday. OMG!!! I hope this is the problem, because I have been in misery for the last three weeks. Especially in bed, under the sheets - my whole body itches and burns intensely! I have a rash that started on my jawline and cheeks (right where the sheets touch when I'm sleeping), then my legs started itching and burning intensely - now my whole body is doing the same. It wasn't immediate, but once it starts it spreads. Quitting all tide products and anything that has little "extras" in it. So glad I found this blog!Laurenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05325329364082779294noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8993228338789986683.post-87865237848116909182016-05-08T17:38:08.723-07:002016-05-08T17:38:08.723-07:00I could tell how I mitigate itch... but no one has...I could tell how I mitigate itch... but no one has ever listened. Without it, through years of intolerable itching of poison ivy throughout my childhood, I may have taken my life to escape the insanity if I hadn't discovered how to relieve the horror. Encased in the overwhelming suit of itching in school, I knew that I could relieve it once I got home. It got me through those years and I survived. When I left the rural area and went out into the world I stayed away from poison ivy and lived for decades itch free. Until this past month when that monster, Tide Pods, came into my life and has once again created a living hell. The means I now use is different to relieve the itch, but the result is the same... immediate relief, for a while, even hours. In short, the relief is from intense heat to the afflicted area. Heat close to burning, pulled away by instinct to protect cellular destruction of the skin. As a child I stood in front of a fireplace. Later I used water from the Hot tap of a faucet. Today the tool, the means I use to set me free of the intolerable unspeakable itch... is a heat gun. Hot air. Your body won't let you actually burn yourself, although it will feel that way when the heat is enough to banish the itching, but your body won't let you do that. It takes a NEED to escape itching to get through the pain of the hotness, but once the threshold of heat pain jerks the arm with the heat gun away, or removes the flesh from the faucet, or from the heat of a fire... at that instant the itch is GONE. Good luck. He said it was "probably your dog." My dog is probably cleaner than he is. The only thing I did was change from liquid Tide Free and Gentle to Tide Pods Free and Gentle. Nothing "gentle" about it. I have trouble breathing at night while I am sleeping on the sheets washed with Pods. It is taking several washes to get the Pods out of everything: clothes, towels, sheets. Meanwhile on steriods, antihistamines and an antibiotic for the infection from the hives that I scratched to scabs. Pods should be removed from the market because they are a health hazard.
