Confessions

It's been a while since I came to you, my dear readers, with a confession. What is it this time? I'll give you a hint: it has something to do with the story of a birthday cake. Read the full confession after the jump!

I am a terrible procrastinator. Though I am capable of doing things in advance & sometimes (okay, rarely) can be obsessively organized, that's not the usual state of affairs. Case in point: for my neurolinguistics research proposal, a 10-15 page project worth 40% of my grade, I put off starting the literature review until the last week, then didn't start writing the damn paper until two days before it was due. Another example: being up til 1am baking Sprout's first birthday cake the night before. Something went wonky with the first two layers (they didn't really rise) so we ended up baking a third cake. That'll teach me to fiddle with a recipe so much. The experimental icing was also a flop & Oli was sent to the store shortly before the party to buy some.
