What: Friendly bootcamp-style workouts for women led by instructors from Eastside Fitness with free onsite childcare (yup, it's included in the cost of the class!)
When: Mondays & Fridays, 9:30-10:30am
Where: South Hill Church (5887 Prince Edward St, entrance on 43rd)
Price: $10 drop-in or $35/4 classes
Bring: Water bottle and running shoes (there are extra mats)
I went to this class for months & met some lovely ladies there. They're a very friendly bunch & the instructors are awesome. You don't have to be a skinny, young gym bunny in shiny new Lululemon to fit in & if you haven't worked out in a while, that's okay. The instructors have always got multiple options to increase or decrease the intensity of each exercise or work around injuries.
The workouts are varied & include yoga, pilates, bootcamp type stuff as well as fun games. Each class will give you some great strength training & cardio, focussing on muscle groups that moms need to strengthen: shoulders for lifting toddlers, core & abdominals after pregnancy has had its way with our bellies, etc.
Attendance is good for the Friday classes, but there haven't been enough people to cover the costs of the instructor & childcare for Mondays... unless you sign up! The next class will be Friday, February 15th. Please email Sierra at womensfitcamp@gmail.
