Instagram Addiction

I've really gotten addicted to Instagram in the last few months. It's now often the first thing I look at on my phone when I wake up in the morning, supplanting Facebook as my go-to social media hit. I love the simplicity of it--a photo or 15-second video, maybe a caption, plus the indexing power of hashtags. Also, there are no weird algorithms that decide what I get to see. I see everything that the people I follow put out there as it comes.

Maybe another reason I love Instagram is the voyeurism: I feel like I get a peek into people's lives with Instagram. Or perhaps it's how you get to see the world through another person's eyes. Quite a few of the people I follow are photographers, whether professional or amateur, with an eye for capturing striking images.
