Musical Theatre for Little Ones

Vinnie the Vampire & friends from The Great Big Boo
Saturday Sprout & I went to The Great Big Boo show at the PNE Forum on Saturday, put on by Patrick Roberge Productions. We both enjoyed ourselves--the show was nicely paced even for a two-year-old: an hour long including the intermission, followed by trick-or-treating with some of the characters from the production.

The story is simple, narrated by a large, friendly-looking scarecrow. The main cast is two kids & various Hallowe'en-y--but not really scary--giant-noggined characters, with dozens of other children & adult dancers in costume for each number. With catchy, simple tunes, a lot of the kids were singing along throughout the show. Parts of the show were also interactive, asking the children in the audience to shout out their names, or advice or sing along & there was plenty of room in the wide aisles for wiggling & dancing.

Emily & the fuzzy cast of The Magic of Santa
You've missed your chance to see the Great Big Boo, but Patrick Roberge Productions is putting on The Magic of Santa in December. This show promises dancing Christmas trees, rockin’ reindeer, and all of the magic of Santa in a musical extravaganza that the entire family can enjoy.

You can download music from The Magic of Santa, colouring pages & buy tickets here on The Magic of Santa website.

Disclaimer: I was given two free tickets to review this show. The opinions are my own, however. :)
