State of the World's Mothers -- Infographic

Save The Children has just put out their annual report on The State of the World's Mothers, detailing what we've accomplished in terms of reducing maternal & infant mortality, as well as how far we have yet to go. (read the report here) Here's the infographic they've put out this year, focussing on the first day of life, statistically the most dangerous for newborns & mothers alike. I found the top & bottom ten worst countries interesting--note that neither the US or Canada ranks among the best ten.

UPDATE (9May2013): I've just received the Canadian version of the infographic (just the middle section is different). As most of my readers are Canadians & it's often difficult to come by Canadian-specific stats, I hope my American readers don't mind too much. :)

Please click on the image to enlarge in another window, as my blog can't accommodate the full-size (& thus legibile) image.
