BC's Industry Training Authority: Your Ticket to _____

Have you ever heard of the Industry Training Authority? If you're a high school student, the parents of a teen, or maybe you're in your thirties & considering a career change, you should know about the Industry Training Authority (ITA). It leads and coordinates British Columbia’s skilled trades system, working with employers, employees, industry, labour, training providers & government to issue credentials, manage apprenticeships, set program standards, & increase opportunities in the trades.

I & several other bloggers are all part of a campaign to get the word out on the ITA, as well as trades training in general, called The Faces of Trades. I was lucky enough to get to talk to Rivers Stonechild & learn more about his journey to becoming an apprentice metal fabricator. I'll be publishing an interview with Rivers plus a contest (win $100 gift card to Home Depot!) on Thursday this week. Until then, here's a teaser about Rivers' story for you:

For more information, visit the ITA website, follow them on FacebookTwitter & take a look at their other videos on YouTube.
