Peeing at the park

"Mama, I need to pee!"
"Um, well there are no washrooms in this park."
"I need to go home to pee."
"Can you wait that long? I'm just about to feed your sister."

I try to figure out which is worse, a screaming hungry baby all the way home or risking wet pants. I decide on a compromise & hold him in a seated position in a corner of the park, which works. Then back to scoop baby out of the stroller & breastfeed her.

This might be easier if we'd taught him to pee standing up. But then again, our bathroom would probably be a stinky mess if we didn't all sit to pee.

Yup, you read that right--the boys in the house don't stand to pee. As is common in many German households, we have a rule that you don't stand up at home. This saves us a lot of cleaning--I'm sure you parents of boys know how good their aim ISN'T.
I'll trade a bathroom that doesn't smell like a skid row alley for a little inconvenience at the park once in a while.

Do you have a rule like this at home?
