Our Top 15 Family Activities for the Holiday Season

It's a month away from Christmas! Time to make a list to remind me of the fun holiday activities--other than seeing family & friends--that I don't want to forget to do.

Here's what I'd like to get around to this holiday season:

  1. Doing a book Advent calendar
  2. Sending out holiday cards
  3. Santa photos at Oakridge Mall early enough to send them out with item #2
  4. Taking the kids somewhere where there's snow
  5. Making gingerbread houses (probably out of a kit)
  6. Baking & decorating cookies--maybe a slightly healthier recipe
  7. Decorating our live potted Treekeepers spruce
  8. Riding the Christmas Train at Bright Nights in Stanley Park
  9. Biking to the Trinity Street Light Festival (I may plan a YVR Family Biking ride)
  10. Making a few gifts
  11. Drinking Glühwein & riding the Carousel at the Vancouver Christmas Market
  12. Crafting with the kids: maybe a few more more seasonal decorations for our house
  13. Making an evergreen wreath
  14. Going ice skating (it'll be the first time for both kids)
  15. Buying Hope in Shadows calendars from a street vendor
What's on your list to do for the holiday season? Got anything we should add?
