List #9: Ways I eat cheese

Cheese is one of my favourite foods & the main reason I only lasted two weeks as a vegan when I tried nigh on a couple of decades ago. I did stick with ovo-lacto vegetarianism for two years, but it was difficult in the 90s to be veggie, I swear. But back to the cheese. I love the stuff & have rarely met one I didn't like. Here's how I like to eat it:

  1. Extra old cheddar slices on crackers
  2. nearly any kind grilled between a couple slices of whole grain bread, dipped in ketchup
  3. baked brie with fruit on top
  4. fromage frais with herbs & garlic on a toasted everything bagel
  5. feta on roasted beet salad
  6. cheesecake of any kind
  7. grated parmesan added to mac & cheese
  8. chunks of smoked gouda with slices of apple
  9. cubes of brown cheese by itself
  10. with mustard & olives, plus a good Belgian beer (in Brussels: un portion de fromage is a common snack at bars)
  11. curds melting under gravy on fries (poutine!)

Why Monday lists? Reading the lovely Chloe's blog, Tea Swamp Park, I found an idea I had to 'steal': a list of all her Halloween costumes, with quite a few photos. She got the idea from Hula Seventy's List Project. I've decided to do the weekly lists for a year that Hula Seventy is doing.
