Brrrr... Indoor Christmas Activites (+ Giveaway!)

As the weather took a turn below zero recently, & I was writing my December Bucket List, I started thinking it was time I came up with some Christmassy things to do that don't involve us freezing our bums off in sub-zero temperatures.

Easily accessible by transit on the Millennium Line, Brentwood is offering free Santa photos every Tuesday until December 24. You can also take in the sparkly sights at the Festival of Lights in the London Drugs Court, featuring a twinkly grove of uniquely decorated trees in support of the Rotary Club of Burnaby Deer Lake’s multiple community charities.

From December 6 to December 24, the Gift Wrapping Lounge offers a place to hang out with free Wi-Fi & holiday favourites playing on the big screen while an expert wraps your presents for under the tree. On Saturdays and Sundays, catch a bonus dose of festive delights from 12:00PM to 2:00PM:

  • Daily giveaways
  • A roaming stilt walking violinist
  • Starlight stilt walkers, including the Toy Soldier
  • Greeting elves
  • The Gingerbread Man himself!
  • Cookie decorating
  • Live DJ spinning holiday classics
  • Instagram photo booth
  • Juggling Elf
  • Live ice sculpting (December 7 and 15)

Brentwood is open special holiday hours until December 22, closing at 9pm Monday through Saturday.

There's lots going on at Lougheed, just a few stops away from Brentwood on the Millennium Line. We're heading there soon for our annual Santa photos with the kids. You can get a FREE 5"x7" photo on Mondays, plus take advantage of their Santa Paging System. No more line-up! Santa will page you when it’s your turn.

Enjoy a 'white Christmas' from the comfort of indoors with guaranteed snowfall daily in the Centre Court: 11am, 1pm, 3pm, 5pm, 7pm. Lougheed also has a Holiday Lounge from December 9 – 24 with featuring a gift-wrapping station, cable TV & wireless Internet. Gift wrapping is free on items purchased at Lougheed Town Centre, maximum 3 gifts per visit. Some restrictions apply.

Besides the shopping, Lougheed is also hosting a month filled with entertainment:
  • Noel Christmas Carolers sing Thursdays 4PM – 6PM, Sundays 1PM – 3PM.
  • DJ & Saxophone Player Fridays 5PM – 9PM
  • Gerald Boey Jazz Band Saturdays 5PM – 9PM
  • Ice carving on December 14 & 21 at 1-3pm
  • Living statues on the 23rd from 1PM – 3PM
  • Decorate cookies on the 14th 10:30AM – 12PM.
Lougheed has extended holiday hours, opening until 9pm Monday through Saturday until December 21.
While I'm at it, how about giving away $50 to spend at Lougheed Town Centre? You're welcome! Here's where you enter. (remember, the more options you do, the better your chances to win!)
