Review: Purdy's Himalayan Pink Salt Caramels

What would Christmas be without chocolate? Or any big holiday really--chocolate is a big part of Valentine's Day, Easter, Halloween...

My favourite chocolate out of the many kinds I've eaten this holiday season has got to be the Purdy's Himalayan Pink Salt Caramels. Very simple--they're a square vanilla caramel dipped in either milk or dark chocolate with a little salt on top--but delicious.

Sorry to all of you out there who are lactose intolerant, severely allergic to nuts, cutting down on salt, diabetic or vegan. These puppies are pure indulgence, made of Purdy's blend of Belgian chocolate & buttery caramel with mined-in-Pakistan pink salt sprinkled on top.

I was lucky enough to get a box as a gift from a friend (thanks again, Rob!) but I will definitely be buying these in future. (Note to Oliver: now you have Valentine's day sorted!).

If you haven't had salted chocolate before, you really need to try it! You can find the Himalayan Pink Salt Caramels in boxes of 18 pieces at Purdy's stores or online.

  1. Paul was given some Purdy's peanut butter umm...peanut butter squares dipped in chocolate, then sprinkled with the pink salt. The salt disturbed him so, he scraped it off before eating! But Kira and I liked the salty peanut butter chocolates.

    1. LOL! Since I discovered salted chocolate a few years ago (I buy the Lindt bars with sea salt sometimes) I've been a convert. Using the fancy Himalayan Pink Salt is lovely too, though I can't honestly say I could tell the difference between, say, Fleur de Sel & Himalayan in a blind taste test. :)
